War is coming to Ardunno. For five hundred years, corrupt despots have ruled Ardunno with an iron hand. But now, High King Theogood is about to return to reclaim his realm, and put an end to injustice. Hobby Baxter, a timid baker from the village of Linden Grove, is a most unlikely leader and hero. He has spent most of his life avoiding the village bully. But an encounter with King Theogood plunges Hobby into an odyssey which transforms him, and changes forever the course of Ardunno’s history.

Cyndi said the Lord put this story on her heart many years ago, but it wasn’t until more recently – about five years ago – that she put pen to paper. She said once she started writing, the words just began to flow.
The character of Hobby is one of her favorites from the book, because, as she put it, he goes from being timid to becoming bold and a hero. Cyndi also likes the character Maggie for her quiet and faithful spirit, Mick for his musical gifts, and Pedran for his faithful friendship.
The Road Home is aimed not-yet-believers and believers alike.  For those who do not yet have a relationship with Jesus Christ Cyndi said she hopes to plant the seed in their minds that God and Jesus are very real and not a myth. And for those who are Believers, Cyndi wants to give encouragement.
“I hope to encourage believers that, through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, we are more than we think we are, and to step into who God called us to be,” she said.
One of the scriptures that Cyndi used in her book is 2 Peter 3:4, 8-10 (ESV): “They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.”

Cyndi self-published her book, which takes a lot of discipline and perseverance. In the future she hopes to also publish a fictionalized take on the scriptures around the prophet Daniel. She also writes weekly blog posts.
