What do I do when I’m not writing or trying to promote my book? Well, I am a mother of four very active children and wife to one amazing man. I spend most of my days taking kids to and fro, complaining about having to make dinner (again), and folding laundry. As I type this there are two loads sitting in front of me waiting to be folded. I think they’ll still be there tomorrow.
I love to read and I do a lot of it. Physical book or Kindle, either one is fine by me. I love the smell of a real book, but I can take the Kindle everywhere I go.
I write. I’m a contributor for a local parenting magazine and I occasionally freelance for a local newspaper. So I’m often working on those stories or doing interviews and research for those.
I spend a lot of time in the car. Preschool drop off and pick up, going to doctors appointments, taking kids to their sports or activities, etc. I go to Wal-Mart daily. Daily. That’s no joke.
I love to spend time with my friends. If you’ve been reading The Grit Girls, you have inadvertently met my friends. I love to go out with friends for trivia nights, to movies, or just to Chick-Fil-A.
I also try to spend time with my husband. Occasionally we’re the proverbial “two ships passing” thing, but we really do try to make time for each other, even if it’s just dinner together after the kids are in bed (or watching a movie in another room).
I’m addicted to YouTube. Completely addicted. I like to watch medical anomaly shows. I like to watch Jimmy Fallon clips. I watch my favorite comediennes, Chonda and Anita. My whole family is obsessed with Good Mythical Morning. We’re big into YouTube.
So, in a nutshell that’s what I do when I’m not working on working. 🙂
