A very wise friend told me the other day, “What you focus on becomes bigger.” It’s common sense, right? The things you pay attention to will take up all your time and energy. This is a great thing when your focus is your family, your business, and your relationship with Christ.
It’s not such a great thing when your focus is on the negative. And recently, I was focusing on something negative.
This negative was something that has been in my life for many, many years. I’ve lived with it because there’s been nothing I could do about it, I have zero control over it. Then recently I thought it was becoming worse and worse.
This monster of a negative thing was quickly taking over my life. It hindered my ability to show love and support for certain people, even. I was at a breaking point.
“What you focus on becomes bigger.”
Therefore, holy brothers, partners in a heavenly calling, keep your focus on Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession. – Hebrews 3:1 International Standard Version
What you focus on, Beloved, becomes bigger.
When we set our sights on things of this world, things we cannot control, things that hinder us or others – we are not thinking about or focusing on Jesus.
Therefore, if you have been raised with the Messiah, keep focusing on the things that are above, where the Messiah is seated at the right hand of God. – Colossians 3:1 ISV
Focus. On God, on Jesus, on the calling He has given to you, the path He has assigned you.
Let all those other things fade away, Dear Ones. The monsters the grow when you feed them with attention, they mean nothing. Focus on the Lord and His goodness – and you will feel a peace and calm surround you all of your days.
What you focus on becomes bigger.
Make Jesus the biggest focus in your life.
