Thanksgiving

This week is Thanksgiving. Did you know the day was originally set aside for the people of America to spend the day in church in prayer and thanksgiving to the Lord? They were thankful for the year’s harvest and all the blessings of the year before.

This year I’m thankful for so much. I’m thankful for my family – my husband and 4 children. I’m thankful for my mother, who is the most amazing mom ever. I’m thankful for my best friend, that she has made another trip around the sun almost 2.5 years after her terminal diagnosis. I’m thankful for a church family who accepts us and loves us, flaws and all.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; His love endures forever.” – 1 Chronicles 16:34

He is good. Through trials and triumphs. Through tears and smiles. Through all life’s ups and downs. He is so good. And we should all be full of thanks for the wonders God has bestowed upon us.

Happy Thanksgiving.
