On this day, 30-something years ago, my amazing husband was born.
Marshall is an amazing husband and father. He works so hard to take care of us, he is the most encouraging man I have ever met. And he doesn’t mind my own hair-brained “Lucy” ideas.
Marshall and I met in 1994 when we were thirteen. Yes. Thirteen. We began to date in 1998. Actually, it was 20 years ago this very weekend. He said he knew he would marry me when we first met. I guess God had given him a sign.
He was one of my closest friends in high school. He was my protector, my comrade, and my comforter. At the time, I had no idea how good I had it with Marshall. When we got to Clemson University, I saw him in a whole new light. Within two weeks, I knew I would marry this man.
It took until 2003 (we were 22) to actually get married. That seems so young! But we had been together nearly 5 years and known each other about 9 years. It was definitely an “at last” moment.
Marshall has worked hard to provide his family with a Godly home, centered on Christ, bound by Biblical truth. Yes, he has his faults as we all do, but his hard work is evident.
We may not be perfect, but we are perfect for each other. Happy Birthday to the man God has blessed me with!
